🐶🐱 BELLA & MINNIE — A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP THAT MUST NEVER BE BROKEN 🐾❤️
Two different species. Two rescued souls. One extraordinary bond.
BELLA and MINNIE are looking for a very special Home together. They rely upon one another, and separating them is simply not an option.
BELLA is a beautiful two-year-old female dog whose life began in a hole in the ground, deep in a forest. Of all the puppies born there, only BELLA and one sibling survived.
Their desperate mother eventually brought her babies out of the forest and closer to people because she could no longer find enough food. Tragically, instead of receiving kindness, they were chased away with stones — even by children. They were poisoned, but someone managed to get BELLA to a vet in time and her life was saved.
She later survived babesiosis as well.
Because no Home could be found for her, BELLA was repeatedly returned to the same dangerous territory. Eventually, somebody called the dog wardens, and she was taken to one of the most frightening public shelters.
When our friend Cristina found her there, BELLA seemed like a completely different dog. She was so traumatised that she could not move, stand up or respond. Her body was covered in fleas and ticks, and fear had taken away her will to do anything.
After being brought into Cristina’s Home, BELLA remained frozen in one corner. She would not even stand up to go to the toilet. She had never known safety, affection or a gentle voice.
And then something beautiful happened…
BELLA was allowed to spend time with the resident cats. They did not hiss at her or hurt her; they simply accepted her presence and quietly moved around her.
But one tiny kitten did much more than that.
Little MINNIE became BELLA’s friend, her comfort and her reason to begin trusting the world again. Somehow, this tiny girl gave BELLA the reassurance and courage that no human had yet been able to give her.
With MINNIE beside her, BELLA slowly began to stand up. She accepted a harness and started venturing outside. Day by day, she began returning to life.
Today, BELLA walks beautifully on her harness and passes other dogs calmly without reacting. She is wonderfully gentle with all the cats in the Home — but her love for MINNIE is something truly exceptional.
And MINNIE adores her just as much. ❤️
BELLA is an incredibly intelligent and courageous girl. Considering that she spent her whole life surviving on the streets and had never experienced a kind touch or loving word, her progress has been remarkable.
She still carries some fears from her past. Sudden movements and unfamiliar noises can frighten her, and she will need continued patience, understanding and gentle encouragement. Her adopters must allow her to settle at her own pace and never pressure or punish her for being afraid.
MINNIE is not simply BELLA’s companion. She is her confidence, her security and her peace. For this reason, BELLA and MINNIE will only be adopted together.

• Walks very well in a harness
• Calm when passing other dogs outside
• Excellent with cats
• Still nervous around sudden movements and loud noises
• Needs a patient, calm and loving family

• Female kitten
• Sweet, loving and extraordinarily devoted to BELLA
• Confident enough to help her frightened friend rediscover life
• Her remaining veterinary preparation will be completed before adoption
🏡 THE HOME THEY NEED
BELLA and MINNIE need a calm, compassionate Home with people who truly understand that recovering from trauma takes time. Their adopters must be gentle, patient and willing to continue building BELLA’s confidence.
A secure, private garden is essential. Because BELLA remains sensitive to noise and sudden movements, they need an adult Home or one with respectful children over ten who understand how to behave calmly around animals.
They must be cherished as loved family members and included fully in family life. They are not available for working, guarding, breeding or any other role.
A Home Check will be required, which may be completed online. Their adopters must agree to remain in contact with our rescue so that we can offer lifelong support and follow their beautiful journey.
No payment will be requested until you meet them.
BELLA survived hunger, stones, poison, disease and the terror of a public shelter. MINNIE gave her something she had never truly known before: safety.
Now we need to find the family who will give them both the final part of their miracle — a loving Home where they will be safe together forever. ❤️
