Monky was given up alongside his brother, Donky, and thankfully they both found their way into one of the shelters we work closely with. Monky is a medium-sized Boxer mix with a calm, balanced, affectionate and sociable personality. He can be a little shy when he first meets someone, but once he gets to know you, his sweet and loving nature quickly shines through. He’s a gentle, good-natured boy with a lovely temperament. Monky would be a great fit for a family looking for a dog with a balanced energy level. He enjoys being active, having fun and getting out and about, but he also knows how to relax and settle when it’s time to switch off. Unlike Setters, he doesn’t have a strong hunting instinct, which could make him a great option for families who would like to adopt through us but feel a Setter or Pointer isn’t quite the right fit for their lifestyle. He is very sociable with other dogs and could happily live either as the only dog in the home or alongside another friendly dog. We haven’t tested him with cats yet, but this can be arranged if needed. Overall, Monky is a sweet, affectionate and easy-going boy who just needs someone to give him the chance to feel safe, settled and loved. He has so much to offer and would make a wonderful companion.
