Description
Beautiful 4-year-old German Shepherd looking for the right home.
She is an amazing family dog and absolutely brilliant with children — we have two children under 3 and she has always been gentle, loving, and patient with them.
Unfortunately, after being attacked by another dog, she became reactive and vocal around dogs when out on walks. She is not aggressive, just anxious and overwhelmed in those situations. We have had a few dogs around our home since, and she has actually been really good with them, so we believe her issues are more fear and anxiety based rather than aggression.
We did send her to a residential trainer for a week while we were away, and the improvement was amazing, but sadly we haven’t been able to keep up with the consistent training she needs due to family commitments.
We feel she deserves more time, attention, and space than we are currently able to give her. At the moment we can only walk her around town and nearby busy areas where there are lots of dogs, which isn’t ideal for her.
She would thrive in a calmer environment with someone experienced with German Shepherds or reactive dogs, who can continue building her confidence. She is a loving, loyal dog with so much to give and this is a heartbreaking decision for us.
The right home is far more important than anything else.
