I’m reluctantly looking to rehome my Varanus tristis tristis (Black-headed Monitor), which I’ve owned for around 2 years. He has a fantastic temperament and has never bitten. He’s very calm, doesn’t mind being handled, and has always been easy to work with. He’s active, curious, and has been a pleasure to keep. When I bought him, he had a slight defect at the base of his tail. It causes a minor effect on the way he moves, it has not progressed at all during the two years I’ve owned him. He still gets around well, climbs confidently, eats as he should, and behaves like a normal, healthy monitor in every other respect. I’m looking for a knowledgeable home where he’ll continue to receive the care he deserves. I’m happy to answer any questions & provide more photos or videos Serious enquiries only, please.
