They had adopted her privately just a few months earlier but had become concerned about changes in her behaviour. Once a gentle, affectionate girl, Bella was showing growing signs of anxiety, fear and distress, like screaming and running away/hiding when people approached her, being fully housetrained before, she started urinating at home, refused to go to walks, etc. With two children under three and a busy, noisy household, we were concerned about her emotional wellbeing. We knew she urgently needed a calmer environment where she could feel safe, understood and given time to recover. Thanks to a wonderful foster volunteer who kindly stepped forward, Bella is now in a loving foster home — and what a difference just a few days of patience, kindness and understanding have made! ❤️ We are incredibly grateful to her foster for giving Bella the safe haven she needed. 🐾 Meet Bella Bella is a beautiful, petite, 3–4-year-old lower-medium-sized girl (below the knee), She is affectionate, gentle, funny, a little sassy and absolutely LOVES people! She was initially nervous of her foster's two dogs, but with gentle reassurance and a little space, she began to relax. Within just a couple of hours, she had chosen herself a comfortable bed and fallen asleep. By the evening, she was already snuggled on the sofa with her foster and one of the resident dogs! ❤️ And every day since, more of Bella's lovely personality has emerged. Her foster shares: "She adores people! Be prepared to be greeted in the morning with a waggy tail, a bit of jumping around and some dancing! 😊 Once she knows you, she will come for cuddles and tummy rubs." Bella absolutely loves her walks! She gets excited when she sees her lead, enjoys exploring and is curious about everything around her. She can still be startled by sudden noises or overly enthusiastic dogs, but she looks to her human for reassurance and quickly regains confidence. Her foster describes her: “Bella doesn’t like to feel trapped, but her first instinct with any uncomfortable situation is to flee, not fight. Again, some gentle reassurance works wonders and she is quickly coming back (especially if there is chicken!).” "Overall she is a delight, affectionate, funny, a bit sassy! She could make the perfect little companion to anyone who understands a bit about dogs and can support her through any anxious moments." 🏡 Bella's Ideal Home Bella would thrive in a peaceful, loving home with people who understand sensitive dogs and are happy to offer gentle reassurance when needed. A fairly rural or quieter location would suit her best, with lovely walks and a secure garden to enjoy. She could happily live as the only dog or alongside calm, friendly dogs who respect her space. She enjoys canine company but doesn't appreciate being rushed by unfamiliar dogs, particularly very large ones. Bella is not a difficult dog. She is a sensitive little soul who needs to feel safe, understood and loved. And in return? You'll have a wonderfully affectionate, funny and devoted companion who will greet you every morning with a wagging tail and her own little happy dance! ❤️ ❤️ Five days ago, Bella was frightened and unsure of the world.
