Description

Poor little Leena, so sweet and small. She is a shy girl looking for a home that can offer her time, patience and understanding. Leena is very much a slow burner, but once she warms up she will happily melt into your lap. She is a gorgeous girl with lovely shades of brown throughout her coat. With her short legs and long body she is similar in stature to a Dachshund, but her face is very Staffie-like, so we can only guess at her breed mix. Leena came from a home that lacked experience with dog ownership. After four weeks, her owners realised they were not the right fit for her and approached us to help with rehoming. She was placed into one of our experienced foster homes, where she became foster number 20. Leena needs another dog in the home, as she can be quite anxious and gains a lot of confidence from canine companionship. She is absolutely thriving in foster care, where she lives with three English Bulldogs and enjoys playtime with a visiting Boxer. She loves snuggling on the sofa and is perfectly happy for her larger friends to rest their big heads on her during cuddle time. She has also recently discovered that she rather enjoys curling up on laps too. Leena is cat-friendly, having previously lived with a cat, but she truly does need a dog in her forever home to help her feel secure. She is playful, so her ideal canine companion would be a well-balanced, confident dog, male or female, with a friendly and playful nature. Young children would likely be a bit too overwhelming for Leena. She can be shy at first and took four to five days to settle into her foster home. In unfamiliar situations she may shut down, but given time and space she slowly gains confidence and blossoms at her own pace. Older teenagers would be fine, as long as they understand her need for occasional quiet time. Leena is a truly sweet girl who has simply had a difficult start in life. With the support of her temporary doggy siblings, she has made herself very much at home in foster care and is now ready to find her forever family.
