Meet Ivy, a beautiful young puppy who will soon be looking for the perfect family to call her own.
At just 5 weeks old, Ivy had an accident which resulted in a small transverse hairline fracture to the large bone in her right rear leg. Her vet reassured me that it was a straightforward type of fracture with a very good outlook. After a period of restricted exercise, wearing a splint and follow-up X-rays to monitor healing, the fracture has now fully healed and causes her no pain.
Since her splint was removed, I have taken Ivy for both physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help rebuild strength in the leg, gently lengthen the tendons that tightened while it was immobilised, and encourage a more natural walking pattern.
Ivy has made fantastic progress and is very nearly back to normal. She can enjoy walks without any problems, run around, jump, play and rough-and-tumble with the rest of my dogs. Watching her now, most people would have no idea what she had been through.
She has another hydrotherapy appointment on 22nd September and a physiotherapy appointment on 24th September. I am hoping these will confirm that she has reached the point where I can begin looking seriously for her permanent home.
Ivy has remained with me throughout her recovery so that I could make sure she received the treatment, rehabilitation and supervision she needed. Now that she is doing so well, I feel the right next step is to find her a family of her own where she can enjoy plenty of individual attention, training, walks and adventures.
I have a pack of nine dogs, a new litter of puppies and my sons to care for, so although Ivy is very loved here, I know that she would benefit from having more one-to-one time than I can realistically give her long-term.
I will not rush into choosing a home for her. Ivy has been through a lot in her short life and finding the right family is extremely important to me. Her future home will be chosen carefully, with her temperament, needs and long-term happiness at the centre of the decision.
As for Ivy herself, she is full of character. She enjoys digging, likes to do her own thing and is very much an independent little soul. She comes for cuddles when she decides she wants them, rather than demanding constant attention, and she has a wonderfully cheeky side too — including a habit of catching and eating spiders.
I expect Ivy to mature at around half the size of a Siberian Husky, but she has 100% Husky spirit. She is fun, mischievous, curious and full of personality, and I think the right family will absolutely adore her for exactly who she is.
Ivy has a small underbite which does not affect her in any way.

Raven welcomed 5 girls and 3 boys into the world on the 29th of May. This litter holds a lot of sentiment to me as they are Raven's final babies. She will be spayed when she has fully recovered and will live her life as our family member.
I raise my puppies under my successful early socialisation programme. From handling from birth, ENS, ESI, sound desensitisation, confidence boosting activities, outdoor trips in the car and stroller and so much more. My goal is to raise social, confident puppies who are prepared for whatever life brings them. They thrive when they are part of a family.
Puppies will be microchipped and receive their first vaccination at their 8 week health check.
The puppies are ready to leave from the 24th of July. Any puppy who remains after this time will become part of our adventures during the 6 week holidays. Socialisation will always go at their pace and I have every confidence they will enjoy day trips with us until the right family comes along. They will receive their 2nd vaccination if they are still here on the 21st of August.
Puppy packs consist of scented blanket, toys, enrichment items, a minimum of 7 days worth of food, my advice booklet, paperwork including contracts and a health guarantee and more.
Raven will be met alongside the puppies and I can bring in the puppies half sisters, a nephew, as well as my pack.
Raven is fully health tested- BVA eyes with gonioscopy- Grade 0, Hips total 14, Elbows 0, Embark for breed and health.
She is my incredible girl- easy to train, fun, loving, and she likes to be as adventurous as us. Her natural intuition around children is special and her wonderful traits have passed down well in her previous puppies (hence why I kept 2 of her daughters). She weighs 9.5kg.
I used an outside stud for her last litter for something different. His hips are a total of 10 and he is husky, pom with 8.8% Alaskan klee kai, 4.7% Japanese spitz. I still went ahead despite the small percentages of the other breeds as they are still spitz breeds, his temperament is a lovely and calm and he shows a great obedient nature. He is a little smaller than Raven too.
I will support owners and my puppies for life. They mean a lot to me and I am proud of what I do. Owners will be invited to my owners group on facebook where people can share stories, ask for advice and we will plan more meet-ups.
