Description

Monty is a young Dachshund available for stud, and this will be his first mating. He is healthy, well looked after, and has a friendly, gentle temperament. He’s been raised in a loving home and is great around people and other dogs. Although new to stud, he shows all the right characteristics of the breed and would be a good match for a suitable female with an experienced owner.

Pros

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs

Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please

Fun-loving and playful by nature

Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
