Description
My gorgeous girl has given birth to a beautiful litter of five Cockapoo puppies: three girls and two boys.
We have two beautiful black girls with little white splashes, one gorgeous brown girl, a boisterous apricot boy who is the double of Grandma (the undisputed head of our doggy tribe!), and a fox-red boy just like his mum.
A little about their family: Mum is Aggie, our five-year-old fox-red Cockapoo, and Dad is Teddy, a Poodle. This is their second litter together, and Teddy’s paperwork and relevant health documentation are available to see.
Aggie is the daughter of my much-loved Marple — Granny to this little lot — so this is a family line I know very well. Marple is still very much the head of our doggy tribe.
There’s also a tradition in our house: all my dogs are named after detectives, so naturally this litter followed suit. We have Hetty, Rebus, Vera, Fred and Daisy.
Before you fall in love with a photograph (the beautiful black pair are ridiculously hard to photograph!), please understand that choosing one of my puppies is very much a two-way process.
I don’t sell puppies on a first-come, first-served basis, and being able to afford the purchase price does not guarantee that I will sell you one.
I breed very rarely — roughly once every two years. There are only five of them, and I intend to be extremely particular about where each one spends the next 15–17 years. If you are chosen to take one home, it will be because I genuinely believe you can offer that puppy an exceptional life.
So, before contacting me, please consider whether you can genuinely offer the following.
The right home: Please do not apply if you live in a flat or apartment, or cannot offer a safe and securely enclosed garden with a proper grassed area — not a yard, balcony or entirely paved garden. They are used to space to run, play and potter outside and I want that to continue.
Plenty of exercise: Cockapoos are active, intelligent dogs and mine love a good long walk. A garden isn’t a substitute for exercise. I’m looking for owners with the time and physical capacity to exercise them properly every day and who genuinely enjoy long walks and adventures.
Plenty of company: Cockapoos are incredibly loyal, affectionate, shadow-like dogs. They thrive on human company and can suffer separation anxiety — my oldest practically sends out a search party if I pop to the shop!
Please don’t apply if your puppy would routinely be left for long periods while everyone is at work. I want homes where a dog is part of everyday life, not something fitted in around it with dog walkers etc.
The financial commitment: The purchase price is only the beginning. My older dogs cost around £70–£90 each per month for premium food, flea and worm treatment and insurance alone. Then there’s grooming, veterinary care, training, toys, equipment, boarding or sitters and the extra cost of taking a dog away. Even B&Bs and campsites charge for dogs these days!
If those costs would be a stretch, please don’t apply. I would genuinely rather keep every puppy than place one in a home that can’t comfortably afford the life they’re used to.
The commitment: A puppy is the easy bit to fall in love with. I’m looking for people who also want the adult dog that puppy will become.
There will be toilet training, chewing, muddy paws, adolescence and plenty of mischief. I expect new families to continue the training and socialisation we’ve started and put the time into raising happy, well-mannered dogs.
These puppies are much-loved family pets. They are not for breeders, resale or surprise ******************s. If circumstances ever mean you genuinely cannot keep one of my dogs, I expect you to contact me. I never want one simply sold on or privately rehomed.
The start we give them: Our puppies are raised in the heart of our busy family home, alongside my three children, including a disabled young adult, our other dogs and all the everyday noise and chaos of family life.
They are handled, cuddled and interacted with constantly. We spare no expense on their health, nutrition and socialisation. They are members of our family until the day they become members of yours.
They will leave fully vet checked, microchipped, fully vaccinated and flea and worm treated to age, with a scent blanket from Mum, familiar toys and their usual high-quality food to help them settle.
The relationship doesn’t end when you collect your puppy. I still keep in touch with owners from previous litters and love seeing what “my” puppies grow into. Pup-dates, photographs and birthday messages are always appreciated.
I’m not just looking for someone who will adore an eight-week-old bundle of fluff. I want that same dog adored when they’re a muddy adolescent, a middle-aged scruffbag and, hopefully, a 15-year-old demanding the best seat on the sofa.

If you’ve reached this point and none of the above has put you off, that’s a very good start.
Please don’t simply ask, “Is one still available?” Tell me about you — your household, home and garden, working arrangements, other pets, experience with dogs, time for walking and companionship, and what an ordinary week would look like for one of my puppies.
There may be five puppies, but I’m not looking for five buyers. I’m looking for five people I trust enough to hand one of my babies to.
If you’re one of those five, you’ll know you’ve been chosen very carefully.
