Lovable Golden oldie ‘Benjamin’ - Benji to his mates of which he has none until he gets a home. Confined to a yard by his cruel owner & then when she sold the house she left him there to die! © A little bit about me in the welfares words Affectionate ‘Benjiamin’ is not a write- off just because he was written off his entire existence. He isn’t worthless because his chance at happiness coincides with his evolution. He is as important as any human in their greater years. Perhaps you yourself are having a second wind and whilst you may not be chasing the fast lane you’re not looking to stop in the slow one either. You & Benji would be a great team. He’s going to be adaptable to many animal loving homes because he’s so responsive. Whether you’re a family, couple or single living folk you will be right for him. Benji like many of our dogs & especially the seniors is going to enjoy his naps and spoon all night. He’s a cuddle Munster & such a laid back fella. Aside of his phenomenal nature which in itself is testimony to how deserving he is Benjamin is also a handsome fella. He looks a bit collie to us. He has nothing to smile about yet there he is beaming away. The poor fella has not one real thing to call his own, not even a bed and yet the morsel of kindness he receives when the vet briefly walks in is enough to change his universe in that moment. The problem is it won’t. Only an adoption can save Benji who is at risk. His reality like so many our charity homes & supports is pitiful. Poor lad used to be kept in a yard & thrown stale bread. The woman, his ‘owner’ sold the property and abandoned him there. She just left him. Poor Benji (named by the charity) had no food or water & had to find his way out and started wandering around the dusty tracks confused & scared. A man started to feed him but didn't take him in & in the end the locals wanted him taken to a government shelter. The man went to visit him some time after his arrival at the shelter and he was so happy, jumping around and offering his paw. We think it would have been better if they hadn’t gone as afterwards when they walked away he was once more alone. That small connection of being fed meant the world to Benji boy. Can you imagine the bond you’d have if you offered him your heart & home? He loves people & walks well on a lead with no training. He, like all our rescues, will want to toilet outside because that’s what he is used to. You can change everything for him. He doesn’t need much- easily pleased & requiring just a corner of your life to ensure his. Please ask the charity to learn more. Our rescues never stop wanting to belong and to be known. It’s what we all desire regardless of the challenges along the way. Benjamin even when deserted kept his faith & devotion to humans. His lifelong loyalty got him nowhere in the end and we hope you’ll be the person to embrace what he has to offer. He likes to stroll, is joyful companionship & you really couldn’t ask for more from a dog. Don’t you just adore his grey chops?
