Non negotiable:
1) No cats - she will hunt them and kill them if she catches them. It is an instinct in her breed.
2) Secure garden - if there is a gap or a low wall/fence she will find a way out.
3) On lead for walks - she instinctively chases rabbits, squirrels, birds etc.
Lady is an amazing dog and companion but unfortunately we are having to re-home her due to change of work and life circumstances which means we are away from home more and cannot look after her as she deserves.
She is a moderately energetic dog who loves walks (must be on a lead) and playing with balls and toys. Once she has had a walk or play she loves to curl up and sleep next to you. She is very good with kids of all ages. Her first instinct is to roll over for a tummy rub and she is very patient with children.
She is hit and miss with other dogs at first, especially if they run towards her after she was attacked a couple of years ago. With regular training I am sure she can turn this around as she used to be friendly with all other dogs. On walks I get her to walk in heel until we are past other dogs but I think what she really needs is regular introductions and time to build her confidence that other dogs are friendly and not a threat. Unfortunately we haven’t had time to complete that training.
