It is with a very heavy heart that we are looking for a loving and experienced forever home for our beautiful Cane Corso, Goofy.
Goofy is a male Cane Corso, over a year old, and is genuinely the biggest cuddly buddy. He is incredibly affectionate, loving and loyal with his family. He becomes very attached to his owners and absolutely loves human attention. He loves cuddling, sleeping next to you and being close to the people he trusts.
Goofy has a very sweet and loving personality with his family. He loves being around his owners, getting attention and being part of the family. He is playful, intelligent, full of character and loves to play, especially when you run around with him.
We do, however, want to be completely honest about his behavioural difficulties so that we can find the right home for him.
Goofy can be very jealous and unfortunately does not get along well with other dogs in the home. There have been incidents where he has attacked our other dog, so we believe he would ideally need to be the only dog in the household. An experienced owner who understands how to safely manage dogs with behavioural issues may potentially be able to manage him alongside another dog, but this would need to be very carefully considered.
He also reacts strongly to other dogs when out on walks. When he sees another dog, he can become extremely focused on them and pull very strongly towards them. We cannot always know what his intention is, but because of his size and strength and his previous behaviour, this needs to be taken seriously and managed safely.
Goofy can also pull on the lead when he is excited or interested in something, so he would benefit from an experienced owner who is willing to continue working on his lead manners, impulse control and general training.
Because of his behavioural issues, Goofy is not suitable for someone looking for an easy first dog. He needs an experienced owner who understands large and powerful breeds, is confident handling a strong dog and is willing to continue his training and behavioural work.
Despite these difficulties, Goofy is a genuinely lovely dog with the people he trusts. He is affectionate, cuddly, loyal and loves being close to his family. He really is a big cuddly buddy who loves his people, and this is what makes finding the right home so important to us.
We are not looking for a quick sale. Finding the right home and the right person for Goofy is far more important to us than the price. We would like to speak with potential owners and make sure they understand his behaviour and feel confident that they can provide him with the right environment.
Goofy is a very special dog to us and this is not a decision we have made lightly. We love him very much, but we feel that finding him a home that is better suited to his behavioural needs is the fairest thing for him and for our other dog.
