Description
Kali is mixed breed. We brought her as a bully, however as she grew, it was clear she is not. We believe she is a staff cross. She is around 32kg. Kali is a very sweet, quiet, house trained dog. However, she has a lot of anxiety and it is extremely difficult to walk her - we use a halti, but she becomes very distressed. We have spoken to dog trainer's to gain advice. She walks better when just with my husband and our other dog. We are regrettably having to re-home Kali. This has not been an easy decision, as we have had her since she was 5 months old. She has grown up with our children and thus far is exceptional with all children. That being said, we are looking for a home with only adults. She needs somewhere calm and someone who understands anxiety. When we have people come round, she becomes distressed and shows signs of aggression. She has not bitten anyone. However, we are having to keep her separate when we have people over and this isn't fair on her. We have three children and although Kali has not hurt anyone, we no longer feel she is ok with us. We have tried to understand and have sought advice. We will want to talk to who is interested in Kali, to ensure the right person/people take her. Someone that understands how to help anxious dogs. She needs to be muzzled if out also, as she is not good with dogs outside the house. She gets on very well with our other dog and our in-laws dog when he comes over. We need someone patient who will work with Kali to get her to gain the confidence. As said, this has not been an easy decision with months of talking and working on how to help her. We will not be selling Kali to a family with children. Although she has never shown any signs of aggression towards them, due to how she is with people coming in the house or out on walks, this is not something we would feel happy with.
