Description

Bear 💙 5 years old Medium sized Male (25kg) Available for : Foster/Foster With A View Location : Staffordshire but transport provided anywhere in the UK ADOPTION DONATION Bear is generally friendly with adults and other dogs when calm and confident. In his previous environment, he enjoyed company and affection and responded well to consistent and clear guidance. He can, however, become overexcited and vocal, particularly in the garden where he will bark at passers-by or noises. It is felt that calm, consistent structured training and the re-establishment of clear household boundaries will help him feel secure. Bear enjoys his walks and walks nicely on a lead once settled. He can be strong initially and will bark if overstimulated by noise or movement, but he settles with reassurance and direction. He enjoys being out and about, exploring new areas, and is happiest with regular exercise. Bear can live with other calm dogs following careful introductions, as he has historically been friendly with them. He cannot live with cats. Because of his recent anxiety around children, he will need an adult-only home. Bear is toilet trained but not crate trained. He is used to being left for short periods and settles well once comfortable in his environment. Overnight he sleeps soundly and has shown no destructive behaviour in the home. He travels well in the car and is calm on journeys. Bear’s former family said that they love him dearly but could no longer manage his anxiety around the children and do not have the funds for further training. With consistent boundaries, calm structure, and space to decompress, we believe that Bear will regain his confidence and stability.
