Description
Hello
I have 2 eclectus parrots that I need to find a foster home for.
They are not for sale. They might be a perfect fit for a couple considering buying parrots and want to use this situation as a trial to really understand what it is to take care of a parrot before actually committing.
I live in central west London and am preferably looking for someone who also lives in London as I won't foster them out to someone where I can't come and visit them often. I'm looking to have an ongoing, communicative and friendly relationship with whoever will house my birds for a temporary amount of time.
My requirements are that
You have space. A small spare room where they'll be closed in won't work. These birds are cage free and will only sleep in a cage at night.
You have lots of time and plenty of money. Yep- caring for them is expensive so I have to say it. They need stimulation, care and attention and their diet needs take time to prepare. And buying toys is expensive. The vet is very expensive. Their avian specialist vet is in East Sheen west London.
You don't have any cats or dogs and preferably no other birds although it could depend on what kind. Reptiles/rodents/fish work.
Hard pass if you smoke and are a party person. Preferably you don't have young children although it's not out of the question.
There a much bigger conversation to be had, but this feels good for starters :)
