Description
We are considering rehoming our Doberman, Enzo (previously Clyde), and are taking our time to find the right home. This is not a rushed decision, and he will only go to someone who can fully meet his needs.
Important Context:
Enzo has very recently been rehomed to us, and during this time we have discovered that his training and socialisation are not at the level we were initially led to believe.
We are currently working with him daily and will continue to do so. If we do not find a suitable home, we are prepared to keep him and invest in professional training.
👉 This process is purely about finding the best possible outcome for him, not passing him on quickly.
---
About Enzo:
- Male Doberman, approx. 4–5 years old
- Previously named Clyde (currently being called Enzo)
- Very affectionate, loving, and people-oriented
- Fantastic in the home – calm, settled, and bonds quickly
- Excellent with children – gentle, tolerant, and relaxed
- Typical “Velcro” Doberman – loves to be close to his people
---
Training & Behaviour (Please Read Fully):
Enzo is reactive outside the home:
- Barks and lunges at people and dogs on walks
- Lacks lead training and general exposure to the outside world
- Becomes over-aroused and struggles to regulate himself
We strongly believe this is fear/insecurity-based, not aggression.
- He has never bitten, even when he had the opportunity
He currently:
- Has poor recall (responds better to a hand clap for attention)
- Needs continued work on basic boundaries and impulse control
- Can be pushy/excitable if not given clear structure
---
Care Notes:
- Vaccinations are approx. 3 months overdue (as informed by previous owner)
- Front nails will need clipping (he is not particularly comfortable with this)
---
Previous Background (as told to us):
- Lived a fairly limited lifestyle in the last year (mainly walks around the block/fields)
- Has not had professional training
- Socialisation has been inconsistent, particularly more recently
---
What Enzo Needs:
- An experienced owner (large/working breeds preferred)
- Someone confident handling a strong dog
- Time, patience, and consistency for training
- A structured, calm environment
- Someone committed to building his confidence and continuing his training properly
---
Important:
- He is NOT a ready-made, easy family dog
- He is a fantastic dog in the home with huge potential, but needs guidance outside
- With the right training, we truly believe he will become an incredible dog
---
Rehoming Terms:
- ÂŁ500 fee (to ensure serious enquiries only)
- Proof of experience and suitability required
- Multiple meets will be expected
- We reserve the right to refuse any home
---
This is a very difficult decision, and we already adore him. Our priority is making sure he ends up in a home where he can truly thrive and be given the training and life he deserves.
Please message with details about your experience, lifestyle, and what you can offer Enzo.
