Description
Pickle is the green male Quaker. He is a very funny little character who loves attention and interaction. He says “Hello” and “What you doing?” and enjoys playing peek-a-boo. He will come over to you, especially around the cage area, and can be stroked, although he is not fully tame yet.
Beauty is the blue female Quaker. She is a little more reserved than Pickle, but when handled away from him she allows strokes and kisses and has stepped up a few times. She will also randomly fly over to you for attention. She is not fully tame yet either, but with time, patience, and regular handling both birds could easily become fully tame companions.
At present they are quite hormonal and can be territorial, especially during breeding season. They are much better when out of the cage than inside it. They have never had chicks with me as I have intentionally avoided breeding them and removed anything that could encourage egg laying.
Sadly, due to my daughter struggling with the noise levels, especially during breeding season, I am unable to continue giving them the time and attention they deserve. We have even built them an aviary, but Quakers are naturally loud birds and need a suitable home that understands this.
They are currently fed on a healthy diet of pellets along with fresh vegetables and fruit daily.
Only genuine and knowledgeable homes please.
