Barry is a small Tibetan Spaniel cross. When first rescued vets estimated he is a 5–6-year-old, but possibly he is a bit older, like 7-8. He is looking for a calm, experienced, adult-only home where he can feel secure and understood. He is loyal, intelligent, and independent, but needs an owner who is confident handling as he can be too bossy with other dogs, he doesn’t seek their company and is happiest as the only dog.

📖 Rescue Story
🐶 Barry’s life changed forever when his owner passed away, leaving him without the home he knew. He was found fending for himself among larger dogs, scavenging for food. Rescued and brought from war-torn Ukraine to the UK, he hoped for stability and love. He has now in the UK looking for a confident owner with experience to dogs that just need instruction and where his needs can be met, but it’s clear he needs a quieter environment away from the bustle of city life. London is too over stimulating for him.
That's what his current Foster family say about him: " Barry is a brilliant dog with tons of potential He was reactive with other dogs out on a walk, but this is now been addressed and he takes instruction really well he deserves a quiet life and to be supported by an owner who has taken care of rescues and is patient with him. So ideally, he would be with an owner in the countryside, with a garden he can relax and feel safe. He loves going for walks just a quiet stroll and he’s very happy 😃
🐕 More Details
Barry is calm and well-behaved at home. He doesn’t bark when the doorbell rings or when left alone, is housetrained, and quickly adapted to a routine. He can be fussy with food, preferring varied home-cooked meals with kibble.
He will do best in a quiet location away from heavy foot traffic.
With people he trusts, Barry is affectionate He enjoys being invited for attention but is also content to spend time in his bed or on a cool floor. He accepts being brushed and bathed, provided it’s done gently, and loves his harness to be put on him.

🐶 Barry needs to be in a calm, quiet, adult-only home in a rural or semi-rural area. An owner? Who will not overwhelm him, will give him the structure and security he needs, who will just love him as he is. A predictable routine, space to relax,

🐶 Barry is generally healthy. Neutered. He has mild Luxating patella, but it doesn't affect him any seriously, doesn’t cause pain, just some discomfort and taking in account his small size surgery considered as not necessary as will not provide long-term solution (Luxating patella will return in year or two), Has all core vaccines done, microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
