🍁 Maple needs a home 🍁 🐾 Maple has been DNA tested and her results have helped give us an explanation to her behaviours, she is Belgian Malinois x Saluki x Greyhound. 🐾 Mali’s have a high drive and energy, they need to be kept busy and mentally stimulated, they like to run and jump and use their intelligence and energy but we need to ensure this is channeled in a positive manner, whether it be scent training, flyball, or agility, so a home willing to do this with Maple is essential to help prevent undesirable behaviour. All of the breeds Maple is mixed with have a high prey drive which also needs to be taken into account by a potential home, and also means she cannot be rehomed with cats. 🐾 She will be 2 years old next month, she is chipped, vaccinated and spayed. She’s brilliant with male dogs but can be very choosy with other females. She is housetrained, walks really well on the lead and travels well in the car. 🐾 Maple is a dog that needs plenty of both physical and mental stimulation. She currently gets overstimulated quite easily and this can then turn into undesirable behaviour where she jumps, grabs clothes, and lunges. In the correct environment with boundaries, training and supervision this could be corrected and she could learn how to channel her excitement appropriately. This behaviour is probably both age related and the fact she’s not received training previously and may never have had any positive handling or socialisation. 🐾 Maple responds well to her handler, she doesn’t resource guard, she’s very intelligent and loves to be involved with everything you do, and she’s very food oriented so we are confident she would respond very well to training. 🐾 This beautiful girl really is such a sweet, affectionate, happy girl who just needs the right handler/home to help her become the perfect princess we know she can be.
