Our much loved whiggy girl Pika has just welcomed a carefully planned litter of 7 strong puppies, 7/8 Italian Greyhound (IG), 1/8 whippet.

We have had a lot of interest in this litter and will be welcoming visits and taking reservations once the puppies’ eyes have opened and they are at least a few weeks old. I am more than happy to answer any questions and register interest at this stage, and to speak on the phone or arrange video calls if preferred. Regular pupdates will be posted on the BazZita Whiggies Facebook group.
Pika is our beautiful 4 year old blue and white whiggy. She is 3/4 IG and 1/4 whippet. We bred Pika ourselves and also own her mother and aunt.
Pika has a fantastic temperament. She is affectionate, confident and very people-orientated. We have been fortunate enough to be able to take our whiggies to work with us from a young age, so they are very well socialised with both people and other dogs. Pika has grown up around our two children, now 11 and 12, so she is excellent with kids. While we don’t own cats, she has met them and behaved very well.
Our small pack of whiggies are fully vaccinated, routinely wormed and health checked. Pika has no health issues and has been DNA tested, screening clear for a wide range of genetic conditions. She has no history of health or behavioural concerns. All breeding decisions are made with health, temperament and long-term wellbeing as our priority. I am very happy to share her full health and DNA records with serious enquiries.
The sire is a KC registered solid fawn Italian Greyhound and an excellent example of the breed, with a friendly and outgoing temperament. This is a repeat pairing from Pika’s previous litter, which produced stunning, well-tempered puppies. Photos of full siblings from the previous litter, along with the sire, can be shared on request. A copy of his KC pedigree will be provided to new owners, along with pedigree information for Pika’s sire.
The puppies are being born and raised in our living room, so they will be well accustomed to the sights and sounds of a busy family home. As this is a spring litter, they will benefit from early environmental exposure outdoors and will be ready to go to their new homes in the summer months, which can make initial training, including toilet training, more straightforward.
Puppies will be ready to leave for their new homes from 8 weeks old, which will be around 14th June. At this stage they will be ready to start training with their new families and will have benefitted from the socialisation and training we have already provided, as well as early life with Pika and the rest of the pack.
They will be socialised with our children and our other dogs, well handled from birth, and raised with careful attention to their early development during key stages of puppyhood. We follow a structured approach to early socialisation and development, including early neurological stimulation (ENS) and early scent introduction in the first few weeks, helping the puppies develop confidence, resilience and strong foundations for later life.
We breed whiggies with the aim of producing a healthy, balanced dog that retains the elegance and affectionate nature of the IG, with a little more bone and robustness from the whippet, making them well suited to family life. As this litter is 7/8 IG, the puppies are likely to be slightly smaller than Pika. Pika’s pre-pregnancy weight is around 9kg, and we expect the puppies to mature at approximately 5 to 8kg.
We have bred several whiggy litters since our first litter in 2015 and like to keep in touch with all of our owners. As a qualified veterinary nurse, and alongside my breeding experience, I have completed additional CPD courses in areas such as breeding, whelping and early puppy development. This allows me to offer ongoing, informed support to new owners throughout their puppy’s life. This has been reflected when previous owners have returned to us for a second or third puppy.
We run a private Facebook group for owners of BazZita Whiggies and other like-minded mini sighthound enthusiasts, where I share regular updates, photos and videos of the puppies as they grow. There is a photo of the group page included in this advert and you are welcome to join:

We also have a WhatsApp group for existing Pika puppy owners, and new owners are welcome to join to keep up to date with their puppies’ siblings and to share advice and support.
Each puppy will leave us with a carefully prepared puppy pack to support their transition into their new home.
All puppies will be:
• Vet health checked
• Vaccinated
• Microchipped
• Wormed every two weeks with Drontal suspension
• Weaned onto Royal Canin Mini Starter, followed by Royal Canin Mini Puppy
• Accustomed to toileting on dog-friendly AstroTurf from around 3 weeks of age, supporting early house training
As a minimum, puppy packs will include:
• A 2kg bag of Royal Canin Mini Puppy food
• 4 weeks insurance with PetPlan
• A scented blanket to aid transition into their new home
• Puppy toys
• A puppy collar
• A faux fur cosy cave bed
• A handmade fleece puppy vest from ‘The Green Dog 2018’
• Hypoallergenic, fish-based puppy training treats from Fish4Dogs
We are careful when selecting homes and look for environments where puppies will have plenty of company and not be left for extended periods. We are always happy to guide new owners and ensure the right match for both puppy and family.
