Description

I am currently fostering my late brothers lovely boy after him passing only a few weeks ago. Kip is a fantastic, loving young boy. Kip enjoys playing and is incredibly intelligent; he will make a phenomenal young man with time and commitment. Kip is NOT to be rehomed with cats (although he enjoys rounding up our chickens) He prefers young teens upward who understand that this boy needs a job and not to be wound up. Kip is not aggressive but does become wary and vocal with male dogs, although female dogs he loves. Kip requires a home with someone who has knowledge and time to train him. My brother bought him at 8 weeks old and began basics, unfortunately, when Kip was 8 months old my brother was admitted into hospital and from there suffered a short battle with cancer. My husband and I have worked with Kip as we were the only ones able to foster him to ensure he goes to the correct home. Kip is STRONG on lead, we are working on this and have seen vast improvement. He is logical and listens when he trusts you to instruction and enjoy high treat rewards. Kip prefers to be free and does not destroy or damage property, as long as he has a window to people watch and wait for you to come home, he is happy. He loves swimming and playing fetch, he enjoys brain games as well as exercise. Kip has taken on more of his Collie instincts than Labrador. We often say he is Labrador in the home but when that front door opens he is border collie. Kip will not be rehomed to anyone and if distance is an issue, a FaceTime call will be required to ensure his surroundings are adequate. He will need a fully enclosed garden. Aside from his quirks, Kip was my brothers pride and joy and would have made him a phenomenal working boy. I wish I could keep him but with having arthritis in my shoulders and being a a busy household with a child with disabilities, we can not. He has been with us now for 4 weeks and honestly, the only wrong thing is his need to have a job. He really is a loving sweet boy who loves nothing more than cuddles and walks. If you have the knowledge for this breed and think you can give him the time, patience and love he deserves. Please get in touch.
