Rescue Dog from Animal SOS Sri Lanka.
Orangina is a gentle, sensitive 18-month-old Sri Lankan rescue currently in London. She has many beautiful qualities, but she is not coping in a busy urban household and needs a more suitable environment to truly thrive.
This is a personality and lifestyle mismatch, not a failure on anyone’s part.
Her Nature
Orangina is:
Very gentle and soft in temperament
Non-aggressive (no history of biting or nipping)
House trained
In a consistent eating and sleeping routine
Comfortable using open-door crate spaces as safe areas
Socially appropriate and calm with other dogs
Strongly bonded to the resident dog in her current home
A dog who mirrors confident canine behaviour beautifully
She shows affection once she feels safe, often seeking a quiet cuddle later in the day.
The Challenges
Orangina is currently displaying high levels of anxiety within the home environment.
She is particularly struggling with:
Hiding and shutdown behaviour
Fear of human handling
Panic when leads/harnesses are introduced
Distress when left alone
Suspicion of unfamiliar visitors
She appears to have had little exposure to lead walking previously and is not yet comfortable being walked conventionally. At present she requires secure outdoor space access while confidence is built slowly and positively.
Her anxiety presents as flight/freeze responses rather than aggression.
The Home She Needs
Orangina requires:
A calm, quiet household (rural/suburban preferred over busy central London living)
A secure garden
A resident, confident, friendly dog/s (strongly recommended)
Someone home for the majority of the day
Patient, experienced adopters committed to long-term confidence building
A force-free, behaviourally informed approach
She will not suit first-time dog owners or homes with long daily absences.
Support & Transition
Animal SOS Sri Lanka will continue to provide support to her new home.
All of Orangina’s equipment will be supplied. Her current family are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and are willing to assist with transport arrangements where possible.

Orangina is not a “difficult dog.”
She is a deeply sensitive young rescue who needs safety, consistency, and time.
