Description

This is an incredibly difficult decision, and one I never imagined having to make. Willow is a wonderful 10-month-old female dog and it breaks my heart to be considering rehoming her. I currently have two young female dogs who get along the majority of the time, however occasional conflicts have been occurring and these have been escalating. The behaviour appears to be linked to resource guarding of me, and for everyone’s safety and wellbeing I have had to make the very hard decision that one dog needs to be rehomed. Due to the circumstances, Willow would adapt more easily to a new home, and I feel it is the fairest and most responsible option for her and for any future owner. Willow is a Labrador with a hint of Weimaraner (silver Lab) and has completed her first season. She is fully toilet trained and currently sleeps in the bed with me. She has a lovely balance of energy — she enjoys playing but is also very happy relaxing on the sofa. Her off-lead recall is good, particularly with treats, and her lead walking is still a work in progress. She can be a little bouncy when excited, but this is age-appropriate and something she is already improving with. I will only rehome Willow to a home that feels right for her. Ideally, she would not be left alone for long periods while owners are at work. I believe she would thrive in a home with a neutered male dog or a calm, older female. She has never had issues with any other dogs outside of the situation with my collie. To help ensure Willow goes to a committed and prepared home, I am asking for a rehoming fee of £500. This is not about profit, but about avoiding impulsive enquiries and ensuring she is valued and secure. As a puppy, Willow was £1,500.
