This is my precious bearded dragon girl and writing this is definitely not an easy one for me. I rehabilitated her after she had a really poor start to life. She had been passed around different homes and, incredibly, was mistakenly put in the rubbish twice when she was brumating. I’ve had her for around 5 years now and believe she’s approximately 7 years old. Bearded dragons can live for around 10–15 years or even longer with excellent care, so she still has plenty of happy years ahead of her. She’s come such a long way from the dragon I originally took in and I’m incredibly proud of the rehabilitation I’ve done with her. She’s a very calm, friendly and content little lady and is absolutely lovely to interact with. She’s very approachable and is used to being handled, but like most animals she also appreciates having her own space. She’s happiest when she can relax in her enclosure and come out for interaction without being constantly handled or passed around. I’d really like someone who understands that balance and is happy to enjoy her company while also letting her do her own thing. She definitely has her adventurous side too! In the warmer summer weather she has enjoyed coming out on walks with me, happily sitting attached to my shoulder while I’m out with the dogs. Knowledge and preferably previous experience with bearded dragons is really important to me. I won’t be letting her go to just anyone and finding the right home is far more important than finding one quickly. She will come with everything needed for her care, including her equipment, heat lights, UVB, supplements and supplies, so whoever takes her on will have everything required to continue the standard of care she’s accustomed to. The only reason I’m having to consider letting her go is because ORLAGH’S is expanding and I desperately need to create dedicated office space. Unfortunately that means making some really difficult decisions about space at home. After everything she went through before coming to me, knowing where she ends up and how she’ll be cared for is incredibly important. I’ve spent five years giving her the stability and care she deserved and I’d love for her next home to be her forever home. If you understand bearded dragons, think you could offer this beautiful girl a loving and knowledgeable home and are happy to let her enjoy life without expecting her to be constantly handled, please message me and tell me a little about yourself and your experience with them.
