Description
Maisy is a 5 year old border collie who we took in temporarily last year as her previous owners were no longer able to keep her. She's been with us nearly a year now as we absolutely adore her, but ultimately I think she could be happier elsewhere if we can find her perfect home.
Her not so good points:
She can be reactive with other dogs in the home which is why she was originally rehomed. She is especially bad with other female dogs. I think she would be okay living with another male dog ( she's fine with all our boys) or a submissive female. I've never had any issues with her whilst out of walks.
She needs a garden with secure 6ft fencing. She is a flight risk and escape artist (and has run off multiple times). She will force her way through small gaps and can get over 4 or 5ft fencing. She will also open doors to escape, so front doors must be locked at all time.
She has zero recall, she goes into panic mode and just bolts.
Because of the above she cannot go off lead unless in a secure field.
But she has plenty of redeeming qualities:
She's an absolute sweetheart of a dog around people. She loves cuddles! She's great around kids, we have a baby and toddler and she loves them.
She's house trained, walks nicely on lead (on the whole), is crate trained and happy to be left for periods of time and knows basic commands.
We will be vetting any potential homes very carefully. Please make sure you've read the advert properly as she does need a very specific home for her own safety.
