Hello, we’ve adopted this Frenchie a year ago. Gizmo is going to be 4 yrs old on 3rd June 2026. We have a bulldog and a child. This little one was adopted from a lady who neglected him badly - he had a skin and ear infection and anxiety issues due to being left alone for very long hours. When our family took him, he was lovely but my old dog and him kept and still are fighting for affection. We used a dog trainer and it worked for a while but we have to be on our toes constantly amps carry on training them both which is more challenging than we anticipated. We think Gizmo would be better off with one dog owner, without other animals or children, although he was fine with our 9 yo daughter. He can become obsessive with our old dog, either being totally obsessed with him and ignoring us, or fighting with him. When outside Gizmo is friendly with other dogs. Gizmo needs an owner who can love him but also be firm with him if need be, and carry on teaching him good boy behaviour. He is toilet trained and sits and gives paw. He loves sitting and chilling with us on the sofa which my other dog gets jealous of so there’s constant tension. We always tell him to sit before giving food or treats. And he listens. Gizmo is very sweet if it’s just you and him, he can be very cuddly and affectionate. He obeys better and behaves better when alone with one person. WE DONT WANT ANY MONEY. I had to put £75 as it’s a minimum. But I won’t be taking any money. We just want him to go to the right person so meeting before adoption is essential. There’s just too many fights with our older dog. We have tried our best to help him become part of our family but sadly we think he would be much happier with one loving dog owner.
