CARESHEET supplied for each species.------------------ GREEN BEAN (DIAPHERODES GIGANTEA)Females are huge and Lime Green, they develop a shovel like structure at their rear end as they grow which are used to flick the eggs away from their territory. Males are slim, brown and have wings, they use the wings to startle predators and have been known to flutter occasionally ! Females live longer than the males, probably 12 months as opposed to 9, females reach around 15cm not counting antennae so you need a big, well ventilated enclosure. The nymphs do need young, tender, Eucalyptus Gunni as a food plant , I do keep them in smaller enclosures when young as the supply of such EG is not always plentiful. I use florist foam to keep the vegetation fresher longer. Vegetation should be lightly spayed for their moisture/drinking needs. As they grow they will accept bramble but always offer EG for breeding success.------- SABAH THORNY Aeretaon asperrimus SUNNY Sungaya inexpectata Ideal starter Insects, active and easily handled. No special requirements, all they need is a well ventilated secure cage and they mainly feed on bramble/blackberry,oak, and ivy which is available all year round. Life span 1 or 2 years, Very easy to care for just mist with water occasionally for their humidity and drinking needs. They are kept at room temperature and are often bottom dwellers so some soil or peat in the base or in a smaller tray is a good idea, and they will lay eggs in this substrate once mature which will take 4-6 months to hatch without much specific care. ------------------------------------------------ Chocolate Log Insect (Dares philippinensis)Bramble eaters, long lived up to 5 years, sexual reproduction.Eggs are dark and spherical, good hatching rate, takes 3 to 4 months for hatching. Some substrate or soil in the base of the enclosure, or in a container, is recommended, keep at a good room temperature with usual misting for moisture needs. Slow growing up to 2 inches, very sedentary. ------------------------------------------Vietnam Insects are very fragile and will loose legs for fun, I recommend hatching your own eggs for this species and try to raise a full legged adult which grow to about 8 inches. Indian Insects are more robust. Both Nymphs and Eggs available for each species.
