Description

Elsie is a loving 2 year old miniature dachshund bitch. She was rescued by myself from an abusive situation last year and has come on leaps and bounds since then. Elsie loves all other dogs and cats but she can guard food and toys and for this reason she will not be rehomed with young children. The only reason for sale is we have moved and our current property is not secure with a 60mph road outside it. Elsie, although not run away yet, we do not want to risk it by leaving her unattended when in the garden. Elsie loves food, toys, lying on your knee and barking at strangers who come to the door (she is a great guard dog). Elsie will have the occasional accident in the home if not watched and this was because she was not toilet trained as a puppy. Elsie used to hate the car, crying, whining and having a nervous poo. She will now happily lie in her seat and go anywhere after a year of training. Another issue we have is because we stay in the country and are surrounded by fields, Elsie has developed a slight seasonal allergy. This is maintained with a steroid injection every 6-8 weeks at the vets in Aberdour but we are hoping if she moves away from the fields this will ease. We will only let Elsie go to a family with knowledge of the breed and their quirky mature so please dont call if this is your first time owning a dachshund as they are not for the weak
