Meet beautiful Stella ❤️
Stella has only been in foster care for a short time, but during that time she has shown just how resilient and sweet she truly is. When she first arrived, she was absolutely terrified — more frightened than any foster her carers had experienced before. It is clear that she has suffered terribly at the hands of humans in her past.
Despite everything she has been through, Stella has a gentle and loving soul. Slowly but surely, she has started to come out of her shell and has already made incredible progress. She now enjoys belly rubs and is beginning to understand that she is safe, although she is still wary of human touch and needs time to build trust at her own pace.
Stella is looking for a calm, patient and understanding home where she can finally settle for good. She would thrive in a quiet environment without lots of noise or constant coming and going. A retired person or someone working from home would be ideal for her. Because she can still be nervous, a home without children would be best.
She is house trained, does not bark, and enjoys companionship. Once she feels safe, she shows how happy she is to see her people. There is a playful side to Stella too, although she is still learning how to fully relax and let her guard down.
A friendly resident dog could help give Stella confidence, but she could also happily live as an only dog with devoted humans by her side. She has not been cat tested.
Her passport states she is 10 years old, but her foster believes she may actually be younger — possibly around 7.
Please, please consider giving this precious girl the love, safety and happiness she has never truly known before. Stella has the loveliest soul and deserves nothing less than a lifetime of kindness and love. ❤️
