Description
Yair is one of 33 Brittanys who were kept together on a piece of land and used for hunting and showing. When the land was put up for sale and the dogs needed to be moved on, one of the shelters we work with stepped in to get as many of them out as possible before they ended up in the hands of other hunters. Initially, TSPP with a couple of other rescues were able to help 17 of the dogs, but sadly, the hunter wouldn’t give us the other dogs at the time. A little further down the line, we were asked to help another eight of the Brittanys. We quickly agreed knowing we didn’t want to risk losing the chance to help them again. Sadly, that number dropped to seven and then in the end was just four. Thankfully, those four have now made it to the shelter and have the chance of a much better life, just like they have always deserved.
Yair is a very charming little Brittany. Sadly it’s clear that Yair hasn’t had the easiest start in life and isn’t used to human contact. He struggles to stay still and is constantly on the move and tends to avoid human contact, we know what affectionate dogs Brittany’s are so we hope that in a home once he’s had a chance to get to know that people aren’t anything to worry about, he will become the affectionate boy we know he is under all those nerves! Yair would do best in an adult only household which he can navigate the world at his own pace, and a friendly resident dog or two to help show him the ropes. He can be cat tested for the right home.
