Description
We have a gorgeous litter of shorthaired curly kittens looking for their loving forever homes.
Their father is an imported, pedigree TICA-registered Selkirk Rex and is homozygous for the curly-coat gene, meaning he carries two copies of the Rex gene. He has a lovely temperament, excellent breed type and a wonderfully rich genetic background, including chocolate and several colour genes.
Their mother is a beautiful British Shorthair Silver Shaded with White, with a lovely round face, dense coat, strong build and excellent overall type.
This pairing has produced something particularly special — adorable kittens with the characteristic Selkirk Rex curls combined with the beautiful features and plush appearance of the British Shorthair. 🥰
Because their father is homozygous Rex and their mother is straight-coated, the kittens inherit the curly-coat gene from their father while also benefiting from the different coat texture and appearance brought by their British Shorthair mother. The result is a beautiful short, soft and curly coat, which can be easier to maintain than the very dense, heavily curled coat sometimes seen in homozygous Selkirks.
They have the sweetest little teddy-bear appearance, with round faces, soft curls and wonderfully fluffy coats. The combination also gives us a lovely variety of possible colours thanks to the parents’ diverse colour genetics.
For anyone who loves the unique curly look of the Selkirk Rex but prefers a shorter, softer and more manageable coat, these kittens are absolutely gorgeous little companions. 🧸✨
They are being raised in our family home with lots of handling, attention and affection, and we are looking for loving, responsible homes where they will be treasured as part of the family.
