Description
It breaks our hearts to be writing this, but due to significant changes in our family circumstances we are sadly looking for a new forever home for our gorgeous girl, Bella.
Bella is just over 1.5 years old and we’ve had her since she was 12 weeks old. She has grown up in a loving family home and has been around our toddler since the day we brought her home – they are truly as thick as thieves 🫶🏼 She is fantastic with children and has such a gentle, affectionate nature.
Our circumstances have changed considerably over the past year. Our toddler has a heart condition and requires ongoing hospital stays, procedures and operations, meaning we are in and out of hospital every few months. During these times, Bella has to be left with family, and we are constantly worrying about her wellbeing on top of worrying about our son. This is not fair on Bella, and it has become clear that we are no longer able to give her the stability, consistency and attention she deserves.
In addition to this, both my partner and I are now out of the house for 8–9 hours a day, five days a week. Bella is spending too much time on her own and we can see that she is no longer as happy as she once was.
Bella is crate trained and stays in her crate during the day and sleeps in it at night. She is still young and very much in her adolescent stage, so she does still chew and cannot be left unsupervised in open spaces.
Due to our circumstances, Bella sadly isn’t getting walked as much as she should be. As a result, she has become nervous on the lead and will bark at other people when out. This is not aggression – she is a timid, sensitive girl who becomes anxious and overwhelmed. When walked in quieter areas, she walks beautifully, and with time, patience and consistency this could be improved.
Bella is:
• Fully toilet trained and will wait to go outside
• Very loving and affectionate
• A lover of toys, cuddles and snacks
• Obsessed with digging and playing fetch
• Playful, inquisitive and clever
• Still working on recall, but very eager to learn
This decision has been absolutely heartbreaking and has not been taken lightly. We love Bella dearly, but we want her to go to a home where she can receive undivided attention, stability and the time she truly deserves.
Serious enquiries only, please.
Bella’s new home will be fully vetted and she will not be going to just anyone.
Attached is some photos of Bella with her mum. Mum was a friend I used to work with’s dog, she is a miniature cockapoo. Bella’s dad was also another cockapoo in their family. She was purchased in confidence from a friend and has been a part of our family ever since. Bella to look at resembles more of a cocker spaniel but all other puppies from the litter were curly, Bella is a straight haired cockapoo and is quite small too.
