Description
This handsome little dude was surrendered to us by his owner’s family, following a drastic change of their circumstances.
ARNIE is some kind of Long Hair Dachshund.
Our lovely boy weighs around 6Kg.
ARNIE was micro-chipped, but we have no record of his vaccination record – so we’ll (re)vaccinate him, from scratch, before rehoming.
He was not neutered ; should you adopt him, we’ll need your promise that you will have him neutered ASAP.
He is a complete sweetheart - very gentle and affectionate. ARNIE is playful and very friendly with everybody - people and other dogs.
He would thrive in a loving, structured home where she will be treated as a true family member.

Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs
Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please
Fun-loving and playful by nature
Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained
Cons
Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
