Description
Maya is a delightful 5-year old Staffy/Pocket Bully girl, whom we took in a month ago. She likes nothing more than going out for walks, snoozing on the sofa, or getting strokes and head scratches. She's got an excellent temperament, behaving extremely well with other dogs (even loudly aggressive ones) and people: non-reactive and no barking.
Maya is great on a lead, and having encountered a wide range of domestic, farm and wild animals while out and about, shows no sign of prey drive. She's responsive to instructions (but won't win any advanced obedience competitions), and is crate trained.
The only problem is that, despite having been told by her previous owner that she had lived with cats, she has behaved unpredictably towards our cats in the house. It isn't entirely her fault, as she's really standing her ground when confronted by our cats' defensive snarls and swipes, but we can't always be around to police any confrontations.
She's genuinely a lovely dog, and the last thing we wanted to have to do was give her up, but we simply can't risk any serious injuries (or worse) to our cats.
