Description

Maya ("Moops") is a delightful 5-year old Staffy/Pocket Bully girl, whom we took in about 3 months ago. She likes nothing more than going out for walks, snoozing on the sofa, or getting strokes and head scratches. She's got an excellent temperament, behaving extremely well with other dogs (even loudly aggressive ones) and people: non-reactive and only barking when people approach the front door of our house. Moops is great on a lead, and having encountered a wide range of domestic, farm and wild animals while out and about, shows no sign of prey drive. She's responsive to instructions (but won't win any advanced obedience competitions), and is crate trained. Our problem is that my wife has a degenerative medical condition which has worsened in the last couple of weeks. This means she can no longer walk Moops safely, and I work too far from home to be able to take over. She's genuinely a lovely dog, and the last thing we wanted to have to do was give her up, but we simply can't risk any serious injuries, and we want her to have the home she needs. While she plays well with other dogs, she'd probably be best as the only pet in the household. Similarly, Moops has been fine with our 6 rescue cats, but can be jealous if they're getting attention. She was brought up with children, but she's quite boisterous, and has the typical Staffy "bull in a china shop" approach to life, so it would be best for her not to be in a household with very small children.
