Description
Our much loved whiggy girl Pika is expecting a carefully planned litter of 7/8 Italian Greyhound (IG), 1/8 whippet puppies, due around 19th April 2026.
This is a repeat mating from her previous litter, which produced lovely, well-tempered puppies.
Pika is our beautiful 4 year old blue and white whiggy. She is 3/4 IG and 1/4 whippet. We bred Pika ourselves and also own her mother and aunt.
Pika has a fantastic, well-balanced temperament. She is affectionate, confident and very people-orientated. She has accompanied us to work since she was a puppy, so she is very well socialised with both people and other dogs. She has grown up around our two children, now 11 and 12, so she is excellent with children. While we don’t own cats, she has met them and behaved very well.
Our small pack of whiggies are fully vaccinated, routinely wormed and health checked. Pika has no health issues and has been DNA tested, screening clear for a wide range of genetic conditions. She has no history of health or behavioural concerns. All breeding decisions are made with health, temperament and long term wellbeing as our priority. I am very happy to share her full health and DNA records with serious enquiries.
The sire is a KC registered solid fawn Italian Greyhound and an excellent example of the breed, with a friendly and outgoing temperament. Photos of full siblings from the previous litter and the sire can be shared. A copy of his KC pedigree will be provided to new owners, along with pedigree information for Pika’s sire.
The puppies will be born and raised in our living room, so they will be well accustomed to the sights and sounds of a busy family home. As this is a spring litter, they will benefit from early environmental exposure outdoors and will be ready to go to their new homes in the summer months, which can make early training, including toilet training, more straightforward.
They will be socialised with our children and our other dogs, well handled from birth, and raised with careful attention to their early development during key stages of puppy development. We follow a structured approach to early socialisation and development to help the puppies grow into confident, well-adjusted dogs.
We breed whiggies with the aim of producing a healthy, balanced dog that retains the elegance of the IG, with a little more bone and robustness from the whippet, making them well suited to family life. As this litter is 7/8 IG, the puppies are likely to be slightly smaller than Pika. Pika’s pre pregnancy weight is around 9kg, and we expect the puppies to mature at approximately 6 to 8kg.
We have bred several whiggy litters since our first litter in 2015 and like to keep in touch with all of our owners. As a qualified veterinary nurse, and alongside my breeding experience, I have completed additional CPD in areas such as breeding, whelping and early puppy development. I also offer lifetime of support and advice, and previous owners have returned to us for a second or third puppy.
We run a private Facebook group for owners of BazZita Whiggies and other like minded mini sighthound enthusiasts, where I share regular updates, photos and videos of the puppies as they grow. There is a photo of the group page included in this advert and you are welcome to join:

We also have a WhatsApp group for existing Pika puppy owners, and new owners are welcome to join to keep up to date with their puppies siblings and to share advice and support.
All puppies will be:
• Vet health checked
• Vaccinated
• Microchipped
• Wormed every two weeks with Drontal suspension
• Weaned onto Royal Canin Mini Starter, followed by Royal Canin Mini Puppy
• Sent home with a 2kg bag of Royal Canin Mini Puppy food
• Insured with PetPlan
• Given a scented blanket and toys to help with the transition
We are now welcoming enquiries and are always happy to speak on the phone or arrange video calls to introduce you to Pika and our other dogs. Visitors are also very welcome to come and meet us, Pika and the rest of the pack prior to the puppies being born.
