Description

For Muffin please Muffin is a delightful rescue pup with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Like any typical puppy, he has plenty of energy and enjoys a good play, but he also settles down nicely and enjoys relaxing once he’s had his fun. When meeting new people, Muffin can be a little timid at first. However, once he gains confidence, his friendly nature shines through and he quickly warms up to people and children. He has spent time with his foster’s young nephews and had great fun playing with them. Muffin lives with a resident dog and gets along well. As with most puppies, he occasionally likes to test boundaries, but he listens when the older dog lets him know the rules. He would likely thrive in a home with another calm, confident dog that he can learn from and follow. Muffin is very much a “dog’s dog” and enjoys both playing and relaxing alongside his canine companion. Although he enjoys the company of other dogs, Muffin is also beginning to show more affection towards his foster carer as he settles in. He now happily seeks out cuddles, loves a belly rub, and is always overjoyed to see his person in the morning or after waking from a nap. Muffin has shown interest in making friends with the household cats, though they are a little unsure of him. His occasional barking is simply frustration as he tries to introduce himself. He is currently trained to use puppy pads and has started going outside more regularly. Muffin has even begun asking to go out by waiting at the door, though he still needs a puppy pad overnight as he continues learning. This clever boy responds well to his name and is very food motivated, which makes training easier. He already knows to sit for his meals and treats and is improving at waiting politely rather than jumping up. He will even “sing” with excitement when it’s time for food! Muffin understands that sofas and beds are only for when he’s invited. He may occasionally try his luck when he’s feeling cheeky, but he does know the rules. At night, Muffin sleeps on the floor in his foster’s bedroom and generally settles with very little disturbance. Interestingly, he prefers lying on the floor rather than using a dog bed or blanket. He is currently learning about car travel and finds it quite distressing at the moment, even when the engine isn’t running, so this is something that will need patience and gradual confidence building. Muffin is also making good progress with being left alone. He is now comfortable being downstairs on his own while his foster is upstairs and is generally fine as long as there is nothing tempting for him to chew. He has recently started going on walks and is doing very well. Muffin can still be a little nervous outdoors and sometimes keeps his tail tucked, but his confidence is growing each day as he walks the same quiet village routes and enjoys exploring all the new smells. He can still be wary of traffic and distant sirens, but with time and reassurance he continues to improve. Muffin is a sweet, affectionate puppy who just needs a patient and loving home to help him continue building confidence and growing into the wonderful dog he is already showing himself to be. ❤️ His Story Muffin and his siblings Cupcake and Donut were found abandoned in a field, far from any village and with no sign of their mother. They were extremely malnourished, covered in fleas, and suffering from heavy worm infestations — left to survive in heartbreaking conditions. They were rushed straight to the vet, where they received urgent treatment for parasites and began their road to recovery. Thanks to proper care, nourishment, and lots of love, they are now happy, healthy, and full of life. All that’s left for them now is to find their forever homes where they will be safe, cherished, and never abandoned again.
