Description
🌺 AZALEA – The Little Lap Dog Who May Not Stay Little! 🐾❤️
Born approximately 10 April 2026 | Female | Nearly 4 months old
Azalea is one of Marinela's six beautiful puppies, and hers is a story that could so easily have had a very different ending.
Their mum, Marinela, was surviving as a stray in a village, begging for food while trying to keep her six babies alive. A kind person was feeding her, but contacted us urgently when threats were made to get rid of the little family — even by poisoning their mum.
We couldn't leave them there.
The puppies were brought to safety first, and shortly afterwards we managed to rescue Marinela too. Since then, the babies have been able to do exactly what puppies should do: eat, grow, play, sleep, cause a little mischief and discover that human hands can mean cuddles rather than harm. ❤️
And just look at Azalea now!
🌺 What is Azalea like?
She's an absolutely fantastic little girl.
Azalea is playful and active, as any healthy puppy should be, but she isn't excessively energetic or hyperactive. She enjoys playing with her siblings and the other dogs around her, but she has an especially affectionate side when it comes to people.
In fact, of all six siblings, Azalea is probably the biggest cuddle monster.
If you allowed her to choose where she spent her day, the answer would probably be:
ON YOUR LAP. 😂❤️
She will climb up for affection and happily settle herself there as though that's exactly where she belongs.
And perhaps, as she grows, nobody should tell her that she may eventually become rather too big for it!
🐕 What might she grow into?
Azalea is a lovely, leggy puppy with a short cream coat, white facial blaze, soft floppy ears and wonderfully expressive dark eyes.
Her mum Marinela is a medium-sized mixed-breed dog, while Azalea's father is unknown, so any breed identification can only ever be an educated guess.
She has something of a Labrador/hound-type appearance, with perhaps a little terrier somewhere in the family tree. Her longer legs and athletic proportions suggest that she is likely to mature into a medium-sized dog, although we can never guarantee an adult size with a rescue puppy of unknown parentage.
Whatever mixture created her, it created something rather beautiful. 🥰
🩺 Health & Vetting
Azalea is now:
✔ Fully vaccinated
✔ Microchipped
✔ Treated against internal and external parasites
✔ Ready to begin looking for her forever family
At not quite four months old, she is too young to be spayed, so this will need to be done at the appropriate age as part of her adoption conditions.
🏡 The home we're looking for
Azalea could fit beautifully into many different family situations.
She would love a home where she receives plenty of human interaction, affection and age-appropriate exercise, alongside the usual patient puppy training.
She is growing up around other dogs and is very sociable with them, so she could happily live with a suitable resident dog, although having another dog is certainly not essential.
What is essential is understanding that Azalea is still a baby. Her new family will need to continue her toilet training, lead training, socialisation and all the other little lessons that turn a wonderful puppy into a wonderful adult dog.
Most of all, we want somebody who sees adoption as a lifetime commitment.
❤️ From danger to somebody's lap...
Four months ago, Azalea's future was frighteningly uncertain.
Today she's safe, healthy, vaccinated, growing like a weed — and apparently convinced that every available human lap belongs to her. 😂🌺
Now she just needs to find the lap she'll be allowed to claim for the rest of her life.
