Description

Rom is a much-loved 4.5-year-old male Border Collie who we are sadly looking to rehome. Finding him the right home is far more important to us than the price. Rom is a lovely, affectionate boy who absolutely adores people. He loves cuddles and being close to his family. He particularly loves spending time with you in the morning, but he is also very good at settling and having his own space. He is super relaxed in the house during the day and is happy to snooze and potter around while you get on with things. He does, however, need an active home that can give him at least an hour’s good walk every day, as well as some mental stimulation and plenty of time and attention. As you’d expect from a Border Collie, he is intelligent and loves being involved with his people. Once he’s had his exercise, he is very happy to come home and relax. We are looking for a calm, loving and experienced home, ideally with someone who understands Border Collies and the breed’s needs. Rom must go to a home where he will be the only dog, so he can have his own space and receive plenty of attention. We are sadly considering rehoming because, since having a baby, Rom and the baby have not got on together in the way we had hoped, and we feel that finding Rom a home better suited to him is the fairest and safest option for everyone. This is an incredibly difficult decision as he is a very important part of our family. We are looking for a child-free home where Rom can have a calm and settled environment. We want to be completely honest about this from the outset so that we can find the right match. We will be selective about where he goes and would like to speak properly with potential owners about their home, lifestyle and experience. We are not looking for the quickest sale - we are looking for Rom’s forever home. Rom is a very special dog who has so much love to give, and we want to make sure his next home is somewhere he can genuinely thrive. The price is negotiable, ultimately the right home is much more important than the money.
