Description
this is a lovely female royal python ive had for around ten months but I believe her to be around 2-3 years old.
she is a fairly big girl but might yet have some growing in her and she Is on one small rat every two weeks.
when it comes round to feeding she heavily strays from royal python stereotypes and is extremely excited. she will strike at the glass if given the chance and goes a bit looney.
to combat the issue I have bought a large hook and use tap training where I tap her body a couple of times before any sort of handling.
when feeding I find it best to turn off the heat bulb an hour or so beforehand and throw the rat onto of the black hide (shown In photos). leave her be and dont be near the glass and she will find it in her own time.
when she has been tapped and if there is no food around she is amazing to handle, she can be a bit wiggly but she also does settle well and enjoys sitting around arms, necks, really anywhere she can feel secure. as with any constrictor series they are extremely hard to get out of spaces they have wedged themselves into so be cautious around things like seats with bars or any small-ish gaps.
she comes with a 4ish foot (around 3.7ish) vivarium, 2 hides, one extra cork bark piece, som fake leaves , a heat bulb in a cage, a thermostat, a handling hook, and some extra substrate.
I am sad to have to re-home her however I want her to go to somewhere which will give her the enrichment and love she deserves. she is truly a wonderful snake with a great temperament for handling once she is tapped.
id prefer her to go to an experienced home or will need to know that enough research has been done before she is re-homed so will likely ask some questions to get to know where she will be living
any questions feel free to ask, I also have a male hognose which I would potentially be interested in re-homing if the right person comes along.
