I am urgently looking for a highly experienced home for Vinnie. Vinnie is a young Cane Corso who has had a rough start in life. I took him in 3 months ago from a friend after he attacked their resident dog. Despite my best efforts to provide a stable environment, his behavioral issues are unpredictable and have escalated beyond what I can safely manage.
THE BEHAVIORAL ISSUES (Please Read Carefully):
Sporadic Resource Guarding & Active Bite History: Vinnie guards food, spaces, and items, but his triggers can be entirely sporadic and random. Because his reactions are unpredictable, he has an active bite history and has bitten me on multiple occasions, including very recently. He strictly requires a handler who utilizes hands-off management, muzzle training, and safe trading protocols.
Dog Aggression & Random Reactivity: He cannot live with other dogs. He has a history of attacking other dogs in the home and displays random reactivity toward strange dogs on walks.
No Children: Under no circumstances can Vinnie live with or be around children or visiting minors.
THE GOOD NEWS & CURRENT MANAGEMENT:
A Gentle Soul (Under the Right Conditions): When there are absolutely no food, toys, or triggers around, Vinnie does have a kind, affectionate nature. He bonds deeply but requires strict boundaries to feel secure.
Crate Trained: He is fully crate trained. This is a crucial management tool, giving him a safe space to decompress and a secure way to feed his raw meals without putting anyone at risk.
Basic Care: He is currently fed a raw diet and thrives on it.
THE IDEAL HOME:
Vinnie needs a highly structured, routine-based environment. You must be deeply experienced with intact large guardian breeds and active behavioral modification. Because his guarding is random, he needs a zero-mistake handler who prioritizes safety and management above all else.
