Description

For complicated personal reasons, I’m looking for a loving foster home for my cat Mitsy. Ideally seeking an ongoing foster arrangement, and would consider permanently down the line in the right circumstances. Mitsy is a 5 year old neutered Ragdoll • Temperament: Sweet and loving, no aggression issues, will greet and be picked up by anyone, very attached to her ‘person’ and is a little chatty shadow. Not a lap cat who sleeps on you but wants to be in the same room/next to you and will do on-lap grooming and attention. She loves her person/people being with her and hates being left at home, so wants a situation where she’s rarely ever left alone. She loves some playtime but isn’t a high-energy cat, when she’s really in the mood she will bring a toy to initiate games of fetch, and loves wand toy games too. Very confident generally, she is used to coming with me to visit friends and family, travelling in the car and settling in new places, though she does love home more than anywhere (other cat pictured is not mine, she’s used to visiting him) • Other Pets: She’s very frightened of dogs, though has adapted to very well behaved visiting dogs when they don’t focus on her/bark at her/want to chase her, but she’d be much happier in a dog free home. Can live happily with other cats if they are a type who aren’t going to be very submissive/scared or who aren’t bullyish/aggressive. Has lived freely around guinea pigs and rabbits (supervised) and likes to share their toys/hides/roll in their hay! • Children: Good with children but does not appreciate being smothered and deserves a home that’s child-free or only older children • Outdoor/Indoor: Currently she has a cat-proofed courtyard garden and she’s harness trained as an adventure kitty, and she will meow at the front door wanting to be taken out (unless it’s winter when she thinks it’s disgusting). Her ideal home would have much more garden space for her, and/or be much more rural so that she could safely be able to have more outdoor time, or someone who would love to do daily walks with her on the lead • Health/Care: I rehomed her from a previous owner when she was 9 months old and had apparently already been in 3 homes, and shortly after arriving with me it became obvious she was very unwell. After months of treatment, she is now an FIP survivor and has been happy and healthy ever since. No current medical conditions. She’s a Ragdoll so needs regular grooming/combing to manage hair balls. She has a hydrolysed wet food that the vet suggested in case vomiting was related to a food allergy, which maybe helps but isn’t diagnosed, and may also seems like it coincides with stress periods/frustration sometimes. Up to date in vaccinations. I clip her claws because I prefer less spicy mittens, and she’s very obliging about having her clipping mani-pedi • Behavioural: Her ordeal with the FIP was awful for her and she almost didn’t make it. Ever since her recovery she has had some behavioural issues that I can explain in more detail in private. These may or may not be relevant if a new home could give her more of the life she wants than I’m able to If interested then I would love to hear from you, so please do get in touch to introduce yourself, thank you
