Description

It's been a really difficult discussion for our family to come to this decision, however for our family and for the best interests for Bertie we have decided to re home him. Bertie is an Trio colour English bulldog and an absolute gorgeous family dog , he is excellent with our little boy and lives with our other dog Loki who is an old English bulldog and has also lived with our old dog that passed away Rolo who was a douge de Bordeaux. Bertie is 4 yrs old and will be 5 on the 13th of June 2027, he has been neutered, microchipped and is a healthy bulldog with no health issues at all. We want to be honest and transparent , Bertie does struggle with anxiety when on a walk. Bertie struggles with social situations in high traffic areas and he hates having to cross the road . Bertie can also be extremely protective so is extremely unpredictable with other dogs while on a walk. We tend to walk Bertie is rural areas, Bertie has been to the beach and also loves the water . Bertie is very much a homely dog and loves being in his home with his family , playing in the garden , having cuddles on the sofa and sleeping, he can live with another dog and children. Bertie is a completely different dog as soon as you take him out for a walk in a busy area, his personality changes and it's like he goes into protective mode , we re-homed Bertie 2yrs ago and I have really tried my best to work with his faults and he certainly has got better with his social anxiety. Since losing our Dog Rolo Bertie's anxiety has worsened, we brought another dog Loki so Bertie wouldn't be lonely and that has helped , however he still hates social situations when he goes for walk so he needs to ideally be in a rural area. Bertie sadly isn't a dog that you could take on long walks , he needs to ideally live in a rural area and be with a family that isn't out for more then 3 hours a day as he will really struggle . I will not allow Bertie to go to anyone and I will want to do a home check , he needs to be with a family that can spend plenty of time with him and understand he needs . With me going back to work full time soon, it's within Bertie's best interests that he is with a family that can be there for him. Serious enquires only !
