Description

Klara is one of 27 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation last October. When she first arrived, she was terrified of the world around her. People, touch, leads and everyday experiences were completely unfamiliar to her. She has come an incredibly long way since then. Klara can now walk on a lead, happily takes treats from your hand and can be picked up when needed. She may never be a dog who immediately seeks lots of handling, but she no longer panics or reacts when she needs to be handled. She is still learning to trust people and needs a calm, patient home where she will be allowed to progress at her own pace. She can be vocal when she feels unsure, particularly in unfamiliar situations, but this has reduced as her confidence has grown. Another friendly, confident dog in the home is essential for Klara. She takes a great deal of reassurance from other dogs and will look to them to understand that new people, places and experiences are safe. Klara isn't a dog who will arrive and immediately behave as though she has always lived with you. She will need time, patience and gentle introductions to her new life. But for someone who understands nervous rescue dogs, watching her confidence develop and her personality emerge will be incredibly rewarding. She has already shown us how much she is capable of. Now she needs a home of her own where she can continue that journey. Klara needs: * A calm, patient home * At least one friendly, confident resident dog * Adopters prepared to let her settle at her own pace * A secure environment and careful introductions * Someone who understands that trust may take time Klara may be tiny, but she has already overcome an enormous amount. She is ready for the next part of her life.
