Description

It is with an extremely heavy heart I’m having to advertise Bailey. He is an extremely caring and loving boy. We have had him since he was a puppy, he’s now approximately three and a half years old or just over. Due to a change in career and a new baby in the house, we just don’t have the time he deserves. If we can’t find him a suitable home, he will stay with us, in no rush to get rid of him, we just want a better life for him. A bit about his behaviour: He has lived with other dogs and cats. When we have dog sit other dogs he is generally fine with them, apart from dogs that are a lot bigger than him, like German shepherds etc, I think he gets a little overwhelmed and defensive “small dog issues haha”. Dogs his size though, he will generally just want to play as you can see in the videos. In the house he is the “perfect dog”, he’s toilet trained, hasn’t chewed since he was a puppy. He’s good with kids and other pets we have had in the house, apart from the “occasional big dog”. He just wants to cuddle and be loved, he does like to come on the furniture, but if you tell him to go to bed, he will go to his own bed. He knows paw, sit and stay. Outside the house though on walks, he definitely needs some more training. He has no manners on a lead. As soon as he smells fresh air he turns into a different dog. As a puppy I used to be able to walk him off lead on the beach and up the mountains, but as he’s got older he seems to have just lost all of that training. We did have him neutered, which initially did help with this, but he seems to have taken a step back. He is reactive towards other dogs and occasionally people on a walk. He has never bit anyone or anything. At the most part this seems to be the initial excitement of being on a walk and after 15-20 mins, he does calm down a little, But we now tend to walk him at night or quiet arrears. It seems to be like a stimulation overload for him. But as I have previously mentioned in the house or in his own garden, he is the sweetest boy you can meet, he will just cuddle with you on the couch all night. He is microchipped, had his jabs and neutered, he was also recently flea’d.
