It is with a heavy heart that I am looking to rehome my beautiful male American Akita, aged 6 years old. He is a loyal, affectionate boy who has grown up around children and is very gentle and loving with them.
He would need to be the only dog in the home, as he prefers having all the attention to himself. He is protective of his family and makes a wonderful companion for someone who understands the breed and can give him the time, structure, and love he deserves.
He does experience separation anxiety, so he would be best suited to a home where someone is around most of the day or willing to work patiently with him on this. With reassurance and consistency, he thrives and is incredibly devoted.
I am looking for a responsible, loving forever home — home checks will be carried out and a rehoming contract will be required to ensure his safety and happiness.
