This handsome boy is looking for a quiet, loving foster or fur-ever home where he can truly settle and be himself 🏡🐾
Dodo is currently living in Whiteley and weighs around 12kg. He is a very affectionate boy who absolutely loves his walks, food and, of course, plenty of cuddles! 💙
He is a lovely boy in the home and can be left for long periods without being destructive. He is fully toilet trained and, despite being an active little chap who would happily be out all day, he is also perfectly content to curl up in bed or snuggle next to you when a quieter day is needed.
Dodo is a sensitive boy who really thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He can become overwhelmed when there is lots of excitement, noise or a number of people around, which can result in anxiety and excessive barking. He can also become very protective of his favourite person, so he would be happiest in a peaceful adult home where he isn't regularly exposed to busy family situations or lots of visitors.
For this reason, Dodo's ideal home would be somewhere quiet, with someone who understands his need for space and reassurance. Someone who works from home could be ideal, as this is what he is used to. He will need an adopter who is confident in managing his protective tendencies and willing to continue helping him build confidence at his own pace. ❤️
When Dodo is comfortable, he is an incredibly affectionate companion who loves being close to his person. He responds really well to training when there are tasty treats involved! 🦴🍗 He doesn't really understand how to play, but he does enjoy a deer antler.
Dodo absolutely loves his walks and would happily be out all day. He is very friendly towards people when out and about and seems to think everyone he meets is there specifically to say hello 😂 He also enjoys meeting other dogs on walks and generally isn't bothered by them.
Indoors, Dodo can be more particular about his canine friends and may do better with a confident, larger dog who understands boundaries. A careful introduction would be essential.
Dodo has also been cat tested and has lived around multiple cats since he was a puppy, so he is very familiar with feline friends 🐱❤️
Dodo isn't looking for a busy family life — he is looking for his person. Someone who can give him a calm environment, consistency and the time to build trust. In the right home, we believe this loving little boy has so much to offer. 🥰
