It’s with a heavy heart that I’m looking to rehome my 1-year-old female American Akita. She is a loving, affectionate girl with lots of personality and would thrive in the right home.
She is:
* Great with children 👶
* Good with other dogs 🐕
* Very friendly and enjoys attention
* Young and full of energy
She was originally adopted from a family member, so this is a very difficult decision and I want to make sure she goes to the best possible home.
Her downsides are:
* She can pull quite strongly on the lead, so she’ll need continued lead training
* Her recall isn’t reliable yet, so she should stay on a long line/in secure areas until more training is done
She would suit an active owner who has the time and patience to continue her training and give her the exercise and structure she needs. With consistency, she has so much potential and is a really lovely dog. 🖤
