Description
We are sadly looking for a loving new home for Enid, our beautiful chocolate miniature Dachshund.
Enid is just over 1 year old and is a very affectionate, playful little dog with lots of personality. She absolutely loves attention and cuddles, especially snuggling up around your neck, and one of her favourite things in the world is playing with balls. She could happily play fetch for hours if you let her!
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but unfortunately we are struggling with some ongoing toilet-training and nighttime behaviour issues and feel that she may be better suited to a home that has more time to dedicate to her training.
Enid is still having regular accidents indoors, including both wees and poos, so her new owner would need to be prepared to go back to basics with toilet training and give her plenty of patience and consistency.
She can also become very persistent when she wants to play. At night she will sometimes push her ball through the stair gate and bark for somebody to retrieve it for her, so she would benefit from clear routines and boundaries around playtime and bedtime.
Despite these difficulties, Enid is a very loving little dog. She enjoys being close to people, loves affection and has a really playful character.
We would ideally like Enid to go to someone who understands Dachshunds or has experience with young dogs and is happy to continue working with her training.
Rehoming fee: £750
Finding the right home for Enid is far more important to us than finding one quickly, and we want to be completely open about the issues we have experienced so that she has the best possible chance of settling permanently into her new home.
