Beautiful female African Grey parrot named Tweety looking for a loving and experienced new home.
Tweety is 6 years old and has been part of our family for around 3 years. She is very intelligent, vocal and loves having noise and entertainment around her. One of her favourite things is watching Einstein Parrot TV, and she definitely lets you know when she wants it on!
She is naturally quite nervous and cautious around people, especially people she doesn’t know. She is not currently hand tame and does not step up or like being touched, so she would be best suited to someone who has previous experience with African Greys and understands that gaining her trust will take time, patience and consistency. She is comfortable in her cage and, when she has been out, she knows how to return to it herself.
Tweety can also be very vocal and can scream quite loudly, so please only enquire if you understand the needs and behaviour of African Greys and are able to give her plenty of attention, stimulation and time outside of her cage in a safe environment.
She has previously been seen regarding low calcium, but at home she has been eating, drinking, talking and behaving normally.
This is a very difficult decision for us as she has been with our family for years, so finding the right home is much more important to us than simply finding someone quickly. We would really like her to go to an experienced, patient home where she can receive the time and attention she deserves.
